Inspired by "Little Lion Man" as sung by Mumford and Sons.
Lyrics:
Weep for yourself, my man, You'll never be what is in your heart Weep Little Lion Man, You're not as brave as you were at the start Rate yourself and rake yourself, Take all the courage you have left Wasted on fixing all the problems That you made in your own head
But it was not your fault but mine And it was your heart on the line I really f***ed it up this time Didn't I, my dear? Didn't I, my...
Tremble for yourself, my man, You know that you have seen this all before Tremble Little Lion Man, You'll never settle any of your scores Your grace is wasted in your face, Your boldness stands alone among the wreck Now learn from your mother or else spend your days Biting your own neck
But it was not your fault but mine And it was your heart on the line I really f***ed it up this time Didn't I, my dear?
Oh wow, thank you Diana! Your continued support means the world. Hehe thanks! Some years down the line, I might just paint this piece again. It will be the benchmark for me for the future. Hehe. Thanks xxx
See, I like both of these, but there's a distinct improvement. I think what I like most about the first one is the style - very book-illustrative. The new, improved version is far more realistic, and the colouring is more paint-like than pastel.
That's my thoughts on them, really. I like the cartoonyness of the first but I rather realism now. Unfortunately realism doesn't allow for exaggerated expressions.
Aaaw... This is an image unique in itself, in my opinion. Both are good; the first one has the emotion and mood striking through the lion's pose and expression, whereas the second is graced with a more foridable art style, with better lighting and realism.
Thank you so much! I have to agree. I was hoping to capture more emotion in the second but I think my trying to make him more realistic. I am glad to know the realism aspect worked, however! Thank you for your comment. It is very useful.
Hehe thanks! Some years down the line, I might just paint this piece again. It will be the benchmark for me for the future.
Great improvement, Jenbot! <3
Thank you ever so much. x
